| In the Gospel Latin Dance workshops we will get to know many different Latin dances. In both workshops the dances that we’ll try are Merengue, Salsa, Bachata, Reggaeton, Samba, ChaChaCha and Jive. In addition to these, in the Tempo-workshop, we’ll have also Zouk/Dancehall and Rumba. We’ll try all these dances with short choreographies and practise the body language that is essential to each dance style. In this workshop we emphasize finding the right, confident attitude and exercises focusing on body awareness. Although it will be a physically challenging week, we will avoid stress and frustration and we’ll approach each dance through joy, considering everyone’s strength and we will give the brain and muscles time to get used to the new steps and moves. |

Gospel Latin Dance/beginners
In this workshop we don’t stress about love handles or double chins, you can be in any kind of shape and any size, everyone may come just as they are and move in their own style! If you have two left feet, you’re just the right person for this workshop! There will be plenty of sweat in the Gospel Latin Intro –workshop, but you don’t have to suffer, these dances you can dance even sitting down. We will try so many different dances that everyone will find the one that is just right for their personality. For this workshop you’ll need a pulse, comfortable clothes to dance in, a small towel and a water bottle. Dancing slippers or -sneakers are good to have but they are not necessary, you can dance just as well with just socks. You should also pack some skirts or dresses, a scarf, different kinds of jewellery and a 30cm ruler with you.
Gospel Latin Dance/intermediate
This workshop is for those who already have some experience in dancing and are interested in trying out many different dances. TEMPO-workshop is a super fun and versatile overview of the Latin dances and you’ll get to experience some totally new ways of moving! Choreography wise this workshop is not very challenging since we are going focus on special features of placement and body awareness. We’ll learn the distinctive body language of each dance, how to express the rhythm of different dances with our bodies and how to have intensity in our moving. The challenging part of this workshop is to get all the different moves of the different dances to stem from deep within you to all the way to your finger tips.
To take part to the intermediate workshop you need to have some experience in dancing. It is good to get used to the idea that you don’t know everything. In the Latin dances you’ll never be done, since life experience is part of the beauty of the Latin dances, there’s something to learn throughout your whole life. Perfection isn’t interesting! We will follow each student’s progress individually; we won’t compare students to each other.
You need soft-soled dancing sneakers or dancing slippers, change of clothes, water bottle, towel, note-book and a pen and a 30cm ruler with you. Pack also some skirts or dresses, scarves and jewellery to your bag.
