VANKI = PRISONER

In the Comics workshop we'll create comics. We'll get to know the process from beginning to the end and during the camp we're going to publish together a comic book of our own. It'll be published in Nuotta magazine in Finland.

Comics workshop is for everyone interested in drawing comics. Even though you don't need any previous experience, we're not going to get stuck in the basics. This workshop has something to offer for everyone! 

Beginners will learn the basics and comics experts will get individual guidance and experience of producing & publishing their comics. 

We'll also learn about different styles and categories worldwide. Your own style isn't an obstacle, variety is a positive thing! So whether you draw manga, BD, cartoon, super heroes or anything else, you're welcome to join the workhop!

Pack with you your favorite writing & drawing materials. We'll have some pens etc. but not a superwide range of different kind of stuff. If you some extra time during the summer, you can write down ideas for comics. Also if you want to hear comments and evaluations of your previous work, you can bring them along too.

Comics teacher Veli Loponen is from Helsinki. He draws comics and works as a minister. He's been interested in comics since a little boy and he's works have been published for 20 years now, in Finland as well as in the States. When it comes to reading, he's not picky, even though he writes/draws his own comics in a western style.
